Christmas in Asheville

On December 21st we drove from GA to NC to enjoy Christmas with our family and especially Papa's little girl - Lexie. We attended Sunday service with the family at Central United Methodist Church, a beautiful downtown church in Asheville.

We returned to Central Church on Christmas eve to enjoy the children's service at 3:00. During the service many of the children came forward dressed as Shepherd's, Angels and Wise men. It was a wonderful service for all.

Christmas morning Lexie got everyone up at 6:30 AM to see what Santa had left for everyone. She got a beautiful doll house, a Red Rider tricycle and a Darby doll, plus many other toys, clothes and games. The other set of grandparents joined in the fun and in the traditional Christmas dinner.

The day after Christmas we took Lexie to a local park to enjoy her new trike. She did great for a 3 year old, only fell once, but got up and back on as if nothing had happened.
On Thursday December 27th, we'll drive to SC to visit GGB's family, then on to GA to pick up leaves and attend the neighborhood New Year's Party with bonfire, fire works and fun and fellowship. On January 1st we'll drive back to FL .

Fall "FL to GA" Update

We arrived in FL on October 30th, found the house and yard in good shape except for a few weeds in the flower beds and some overground bushes and palm trees. After a few days of getting settled in the FL house, SMB returned to the GA house to hunt deer with friends. Saw some deer, but nothing of any size.

As you can see by the picture, the drought in the southeast has begun to effect our lake. This is the lowest it has been in the 7 years we have lived there. We pray for a wet winter, not only for the lake to recover, but for all the farmers and others who depend on water for their livelihoods.

After SMB returned to FL on November 14th, we both settled in to the FL living, with couples golf on Wednesdays; SMB working at the local country club on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons, playing golf with friends on Monday and Friday mornings; GGB playing golf with the ladies on Thursday mornings, yard sale shopping on Saturday mornings and bingo on Tuesday evenings. Even SMB was roped into calling bingo on one occasion. We enjoyed eating out with friends on several occasions, that means no cooking for GGB.

We enjoy all our FL friends, but time flies when you're having fun, so it's almost time to return to GA for the holidays,

Christmas 07

We left FL on December 18th, drove to GA to do some final shopping, doctors appointment for SMB, hair cuts for GGB and SMB, then drove to Asheville, NC on December 20th to spend Christmas with JMB, PGB and granddaughter, Lexie
